This session explores how the Suffolk LIT Lab builds free, open-source legal technology to empower self-represented litigants. It introduces the widely used Docassemble platform, shows how AI is being integrated to enhance document automation and user experience, and examines the policy and IP considerations behind this work—highlighting how similar tools can support in-house teams or evolve into legal tech startups.
